Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-07-31
This is the privacy policy for printandbudget.com, the home of Printandbudget’s writing on Printandbudget. It explains what is collected, why, and how to change it.
Children
This site is written for adults. It is not directed to children under 13 (or under 16 where local law sets that threshold), we do not knowingly collect data from them, and if we learn we have, we delete it.
Mailing List
Nobody joins the list without confirming from their own inbox. Once on it, you can leave via the unsubscribe link in any email, and we include our postal address in every send as the law requires. The list is not sold or shared.
Cookie Notice
See the Cookie Policy for the categories of cookie involved and the controls available to you.
Where advertising is served, third-party vendors including Google may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet. You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings, or opt out of a third-party vendor’s use of cookies for personalised advertising at www.aboutads.info.
Types of Information
Information reaches us in two ways. Automatically, through server logs and any analytics tool in use — IP address, device, browser, referrer, and which of our guides, comparisons and reference pages were opened. Directly, through anything you fill in: a newsletter box, a comment form, or an email. Because this site covers Printandbudget, one point deserves its own sentence — we ask readers not to send us sensitive personal details, and we delete rather than retain anything of that kind that reaches us unprompted.
Rights You Have
You have rights over your data, and which ones depend on where you are. Common to most: find out what is held, get it corrected, get it deleted, get a copy, push back on a particular use, and stop your data being sold or shared for ads. GDPR applies in the UK and EU; CCPA/CPRA and its equivalents apply across a growing list of US states. Global Privacy Control is honoured. More at State Privacy Notice and Do Not Sell or Share.
Retention & Security
Retention is purpose-bound: analytics records expire on their provider’s cycle, mailing-list entries persist only while you remain subscribed, and comment data stays as long as the comment does. We restrict who can reach the data, serve the site over encrypted connections, and apply safeguards proportionate to the (limited) sensitivity of what we hold — no system is completely secure.
Our Use of Your Data
Uses are: site operation and security, aggregate traffic analysis so we know what to write next, fulfilment of newsletter subscriptions, and support for advertising where advertising is being served.
Vendors and Partners
We rely on third parties for infrastructure and measurement: a host, a content-delivery layer, potentially an analytics provider, an email service for the newsletter, and advertising partners where advertising is served. Some are processors acting on our instruction; some, particularly advertising and analytics vendors, act as independent controllers under their own terms.
